Learned to barrel race by attending a barrel racing clinic and the rest she says was trial and error. Her father got her interested in rodeo through his work of putting on rodeos. Linda trains barrel horses when not competing. She says she didn't really start rodeo-ing until her kids were in junior rodeo and then she fell in love with the sport, qualifying for the IPRA Finals in 1982
