I started riding when I was in elementary school with the “Gymkana” events when I was in 4th grade. I  began training my own horse when I was in 7th grade.  I admit I got
really lucky with my mare “Moonie”.  My first year in high school rodeo I won the CHSRA Dist 9 in barrels and poles on her.  She took me to state where I hit a pole to make it to Nationals and finished 7th place in the barrel racing.  That’s pretty much where my love of rodeo and horses in general snow balled. I was graciously given the opportunity to train a friend of the family’s horse named “KC” after my mare was retired.  I made it to Nationals on KC and took him with me to College.  I bought my permit and tested the waters of the Pro Level where I started earning money towards my card when KC had to be retired due to injury.  In the meantime I had a mare that we raised by my dad’s stallion, a Doc Bar stud, out of a thoroughbred mare.  I named her “Pig”.  I trained Pig and made it to the ACBRA Finals in Reno Nevada where I won the Finals in the Under 2500 class.  I sold Pig, bought a gelding and moved to Texas.
