"Charlie" is a gorgeous 6 year old black APHA barrel gelding. He is by the "Famous Bugs" the top barrel racing money earning son of the leading barrel horse sire in the nation "Dash Ta Fame". He is by a proven 1D barrel mare who is an own daughter of the great barrel horse sire "Dash For Perks". This fabulous gelding came out of Heather Kosmowski's breeding program. She is known for breeding winners in the futurity and open barrel arena. "Charlie" was trained and ran his futurity year by one of the leading barrel futurity trainers Craig Brooks. Craig is winning this year on a full brother to him. "Charlie" is a 1D horse in any level of competition. He won money at several futurities. In 2016 he was 7th place in the 1D at the Panty Raid out of 700 head of horses and 15th in the 1D with a slip at the third barrel. He won money in the 1D at the Can Am Barrel Race. He was a 14.6 at Ashville No Bull which would have been in the top 5. He was 2nd in the 1D a few weeks ago at the Central 4D Spring Fling show and 3rd in the 1D at Stone Creek. He was a 14.7 and a 15.1 at Memphis in December. I bought this incredible gelding at the end of last summer. He is a true push style horse and I am a free running style rider. I have tried to ride his style and sometimes I mange to get that done but for the most part when I come running up the alley I forget to ride push style and ride him like a free runner. "Charlie's" running style is not going to change and at my age neither is my riding style. So I am regretfully offering him for sale. With his talent and speed the sky is the limit. There is no place that you can't go win if you fit his riding style. He will never over run a barrel. He is ratey and needs someone that will set up and ride him. He can run on any kind of ground from hard ground to deep sand. He will run indoors or outdoors. He runs left or right. He is paid if full in Future Fortunes. He is legged up and ready to go to the big shows or hit the rodeo road. When I bought him I did not do any trading. I took the cash and went to Heather's house. I rode him and paid cash for him. I would prefer to sell him the same way. However I would consider a nice young running bred horse in as a partial trade. I may consider trading him for a horse that fits my riding style better. I would only consider trading him for a horse of the same caliber. Please do not ask to trade a 2D or 3D horse for him. If it isn't 1D in tough competition and have a record I would not be interested in trading. "Charlie" is very quiet in and out of the arena. He rides like a pleasure horse and is very well broke. I have struggled over this decision but I know that it is the right one for "Charlie". He deserves to have a rider that will ride him to the pay window consistently.
